Conwy, situated in the county of the same name was original known as Conway in its English form, is situated on the North Wales Coast on the River Conwy and with Llandudno and Colwyn Bay close by. Conwy Castle is an impressive monument, built by Edward I dominating the town and a very popular tourist attraction commanding a fines out to the river estuary. A suspension bridge spans the river Conwy, a fine structure built by Thomas Telford , close to the castle is now used for foot travellers appears to be part of the castle itself, however the end towers of the bridge were designed to mimic the castles architecture to enable the bridge to blend in with its surroundings.
